Overwatch: Retribution | Commander Reyes Theme

Some tips and tricks that I have picked up playing Overwatch: Retribution.

This is especially helpful on the higher difficulties and probably already known by some, but I’ve yet to watch any tutorials on how to effectively face your opponents on Expert/Legendary. I have yet to complete it on Legendary mind you, but in my first attempt I got to the first heavy tank by using these pointers so!

Also I am in no means an expert on this event, this is simply all coming from trial and error.

1. If McCree has his flashbang on cool-down, you can melee the Assassin off your teammate to effectively stun her

2. It’s important that you stick together - vital even. Remember that there is no time-limit, so if you need to regroup and heal, then do so

3. You don’t necessary have to have the best aim, just good game-sense, and I’ve found that all the ults save for Moira are best focused on crowd-control when facing the mini-bosses along the way to the evac

4. Genji don’t use your blade on a group of Enforcers without back-up. You will get McWrekt (same goes for you, Reyes)

5. The second Sniper and their reinforcements that can be found on higher ground over the bridge (there are two on Legendary) can be lured back into the room where the Troopers smash the windows in. Back right out to the entrance to funnel out the Enforcers and Troopers first, and the Sniper will remain by the broken window to be susceptible to cheeky headshots behind cover

6. Don’t over-extend. I can not stress this enough. It’s tempting to dive into a group of enemies and get those sweet, sweet kills but unless you’re Top 500 you will most likely die immediately from focus-fire

7. The Heavy Tank will boop you away if you attempt to use Death Blossom on him

8. Not everyone needs to be on one person to revive them, and be careful not to be cornered by grouping up together like this

9 if your teammate(s) falls during the first Heavy Tank showdown, merely refer to point no. 5 by backing up and out of that room, up the stairs behind you and quickly drop down and into the room again once the Heavy and his reinforcements follow you. If effective, it will buy you some time to revive your teammate(s) with only a few stragglers to deal with. These AI are very easy to bait

10. In addition, don’t panic if a teammate falls. They usually have around 45 seconds to be revived. Just focus on clearing all the enemies in the surrounding area otherwise you will become overwhelmed quite quickly

11. McCree’s Deadeye is fantastic against Snipers and Assassins. But! A Sniper will always get a shot out first if she is training on you at the same time and will kill you before you can fully lock on if she is at full-health. Follow-up with a headshot or bodyshot. It should go without saying that the Sniper is your number-one priority and it’s usually either Genji’s or McCree’s responsibility to deal with her

12. Start on the roof with the tables at the evac point. If things get too hot, drop down onto the ground and regroup. A lot of that part of the mission is cat-and-mouse.

13. Teabag fallen teammates as you revive them. It’s good for morale
