In his downtime as a productive member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, McCree, when not testing out the weapons that were being trafficked or testing his metal against unfortunate hay-stuffed targets, learnt the ways of poker and various other strands of card games. From this, he would experiment the different hand-tricks that he had learnt previously, and inplimented them into his games to see if he would be caught-out.
To his absolute delight, those being dealt in never understood just how lucky he supposedly was in his hands. They used to speak of him having the ‘Devil’s own luck’ by his ability to win almost every match that he partook in. Even those suspected of using weighted dice could never seem to shift the game in their favour.
McCree, therefore, with his boyish grin and flashy flourishes would then become proficient at swindling each and every member out of their money and various other goods. His addiction to alcohol and the smokes stemmed from the bets of his careless friends, and the rewards that he reaped.
McCree still remembers a handful of old tricks, although being solitary, he rarely has the opportunity to test them out on those unknowledgeable to his cheating ways.
